Of these, 2 are shortlisted based solely on the perceived intensity of expression of Monna Lisa's face. This appears to be mostly dependent on the contrast between the pupil and the iris and the rest of the eye.

This image is then ultimatey favoured because it also provides a peculiar ginger hair impression.

The image is finally passed through a process that makes it omnichromatic, which doesn't alter it much, because the original image is already quite colourful.
