Grid Illusion with Tiles and Circles

This image is composed of three nested levels of tiles, one per colour component.

Within each tile a circular pattern is formed by varying the intensity of the associated colour component.

With the specific allocation of colours in this image an optical illusion emerges: darker dots seemingly appear and disappear at some intersections of the mid-level green/yellow grid.
